The Heidelberg local researcher and hip-hop historian Frederik Hahn has turned 50! Most known as TORCH, he is the protagonist of the Heidelberg rap scene (Advanced Chemistry, Blue Velvet).
As HAITIAN STAR, he published various mixes, including the highly regarded series on German 80's Funk and Hip Hop, which earned him the title “Mixtape King”. These mixtapes represent the most extensive research on this topic worldwide and are discussed by hip hop magazines to scientific journals.
Having become a classic himself with his 50th birthday, he now dedicates himself to the music that is probably considered to be the most foreign to hip hop. But is that really the case?
